Who we are
PDX Unions is a organization built to support the tenant and worker organizing already happening across Portland. We exist to strengthen local unions, build new ones, and connect people with the tools, knowledge, and solidarity needed to win. This is about collective power — not nonprofits, not saviors. Just people organizing and fighting back together.

Our Vision
A Portland where tenants can't be displaced, workers can't be exploited, and communities have what they need to defend themselves and build more just futures — together.
Our Mission
To empower tenants, workers, and communities across Portland through education, resources, and direct support for union organizing. We believe housing and labor are human rights, and that collective action is how we win them.
Core Values
Solidarity — We fight for each other.
Equity — We center those most impacted.
Direct Action — We believe in moving together, not waiting for permission.
Transparency — No backroom deals. We share what we know.
Accessibility — Everyone deserves the tools to organize, in the language and format they need.
Anti-Oppression — We name the systems we’re up against and make space for the voices often left out.
How We Work
PDX Unions...
…builds infrastructure that organizers can use. That means searchable directories, editable templates, multilingual guides, real-world examples, workshops, events, and strategy support. We’re here to make it easier to organize, not to control the narrative or take credit. The movement leads — we follow and resource it.
WHO'S
INVOLVED?
Our board, volunteers, and contributors come from tenant unions, labor organizing, mutual aid collectives, and direct action campaigns. We’re people who’ve been retaliated against, evicted, laid off, underpaid, and overworked — and we’ve seen what’s possible when folks organize together. This work is for all of us.
